P3 Capital Partners Inc.

With more than 30 years of experience of working with senior officials across a myriad of public service divisions, Monica has been instrumental in helping to shape, launch, and advise countless notable projects across Alberta.

As a Partner at ISP, Monica leverages her extensive background to ensure the firm’s clients achieve their goals, frequently facilitating crucial connections between organizations and the relevant government entities.

Monica proudly spent 14 years with the University of Alberta, working closely with the President and senior leadership team, as well as the network of other post-secondary institutions in Alberta, Canada, and internationally.

After helping to leverage a $37 million-dollar-gift of Chinese art and artifacts from Edmonton philanthropists Sandy and Cécile Mactaggart to the University of Alberta Museums and having the Government of Alberta match the value of that donation, she was critical in launching the China Institute at the University of Alberta. The China Institute is dedicated to enhancing the understanding between Canada and China.

Monica is also the former Chief of Staff to the Alberta Finance Minister and President of Treasury Board, where she worked with each ministry, gained insight into the various programs within each division, and was a key liaison between the departments and the Minister.

Since leaving public service, she has been advising private companies on how to navigate various government and regulatory obstacles, as well as making introductions to senior leadership teams.

Monica is one of the founders of the Canada Asia Synergy group with a focus on connecting Canadian businesses with Chinese investment. She is also a Chartered Manager from the Canadian Institute of Management, currently serves as a member of the Edmonton Advisory Board for the Salvation Army, is the past president of the Hong Kong Canada Business Association (Edmonton Section) and is an honorary member of the Association of Chinese Canadian Professors.

Like a true connoisseur, Monica enjoys travelling the world, good food, and good wine.
