A lifelong Albertan with deep roots in his rural community, Michael is a recent graduate of the University of Alberta who brings his academic rigor and passion for public policy to ISP as an intern.
Specializing in navigating the complexities of government systems and political landscapes, Michael plays a central role in ISP’s government relations portfolio, where he synthesizes research and stakeholder requests into actionable insights, contributing to the development of well-informed, impactful strategies that drive client success. His expertise in distilling complex information into strategic recommendations empowers clients to focus on their core specializations while confidently engaging with the public sector.
Graduating with distinction in 2024, Michael earned a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Political Science and a Certificate in Leadership from the Peter Lougheed Leadership College. His academic journey, with a focus on Canadian, Albertan, and Environmental Politics, culminated in a 2023 honours thesis analyzing the contrasting rhetoric surrounding energy and environmental policy in Alberta.
Michael’s influence extends beyond the classroom to the University of Alberta campus, where he has held significant leadership roles. He recently completed his term as Vice President Student Life of the University of Alberta Students’ Union in early 2024, following his tenure as President of the Lister Hall Students’ Association. In these roles, Michael championed student advocacy, forged strong stakeholder relationships, and led initiatives that strengthened the campus community.
Committed to giving back, Michael continues to volunteer in and around the campus community, seizing opportunities to mentor incoming students and organize events aligned with his passions.
In his free time, he enjoys participating in recreational sports and engaging in thoughtful political discussions with friends.
