A distinguished intellectual and researcher, Marc founded and leads ThinkHQ Public Affairs, Inc., a top Alberta-based consultancy specializing in government and public relations strategy.

As a Partner at ISP, Marc channels his keen curiosity about human thought into actionable insights for clients. Under his research leadership, organizations not only gain a deep understanding of public opinion and other public relations initiatives but also develop effective go-to-market messaging strategies.

Prior to starting ThinkHQ Public Affairs Inc. in August of 2011, Marc was the three-term Chief of Staff to Calgary Mayor Dave Bronconnier.

During his nine years in this role, Marc gained unique and eclectic insights into all aspects of public governance, including media relations, planning and development, budgeting and finance, infrastructure development, environmental protection, corporate communications, and community engagement.

Marc was also Vice President (Public Affairs, Alberta) for Ipsos-Reid (nee Angus Reid Group, Inc.). During his nine years at Ipsos-Reid, he grew the small Alberta polling division into the largest public affairs research practice in the province.

In addition to political and public affairs-based opinion research, Marc’s expertise includes brand, reputation and issues management, crisis communications and labour relations, message and advertising testing, and program evaluation.

Marc developed a taste for public opinion research in university, where he went on to graduate studies at the University of Calgary specializing in Canadian and U.S. politics and political behaviour. During graduate school, Marc was also a Research Associate with the Canada West Foundation.

He has been a member of the Board of Directors of Tourism Calgary and is an alumnus of Calgary’s Top 40 Under 40.

Marc and his wife, Christina, live in Calgary and share a passion for traveling the world in search of great music.
