Jeff is a Canadian businessman and politician who was a member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta (MLA) and Minister in three senior cabinet positions.

As a Partner at ISP, Jeff leverages his extensive knowledge to offer both entrepreneurial and political perspectives. He understands the intricacies of government operations and excels at orchestrating the right connections to drive success.

Jeff has also held a Partner position at P3 Capital Partners since 2015, leading partnership advisory, government advocacy, and capital raises for various private and non-profit entities.

His political career began in 2008, where was elected to the Alberta Legislature to represent the Athabasca-Redwater district for the Progressive Conservatives.

While in politics, Jeff served as Minister of Infrastructure, later taking roles as Political Minister-Northern Alberta and Vice-Chair of the Alberta Treasury Board. He was also a member of key cabinet committees and served as Minister of Education from April 2012 to September 2014, where he chaired the Council of Ministers of Education Canada (CMEC). He was later appointed Minister of Seniors until the May 2015. Throughout his tenure, Jeff was actively involved in various legislative committees and advisory roles.

Prior to being elected, Jeff was the President and owner of the largest regional Xerox sales agency in western Canada. In his time as an entrepreneur, he was awarded Xerox Canada Agent of the Year three times and was appointed as one of six members to the National Agent Council for Xerox Canada. He has additional experience working first-hand in financial markets as a futures trading-floor pit boss, and as a sales executive for life insurance and related investment funds.

He also partners with Lynmar Films and various media projects, including capital raises in the media sector.

Jeff has been awarded two Queen’s Jubilee Medals: the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal, an honorary award given to individuals who have made significant contributions to their community, country, or to public life, as well as the Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee Medal, which was awarded to approximately 7,000 Albertans throughout 2022 in recognition of significant contributions to the province.

Additionally, Jeff was named to Canada’s top 10 Edtech Newsmakers of the Year (listed as #2) in 2012 for “leadership, innovative thinking, and embracing 21st century learning within his province and beyond” and received the prestigious Shifting Minds Award from C21.

Passionate about sports and hockey, Jeff has not only played but coached and trained many players who went on to have notable NHL careers.
